Novamira WordPress plugin: how I let Claude work inside my site

Novamira connects WordPress to Claude through MCP, so the AI works on the real site instead of guessing. Here is what it did on my portfolio build, with the numbers, and where I would be careful.

Novamira WordPress plugin how I let Claude work inside my site

Most AI help with WordPress works the same way. You describe a problem, the AI suggests a fix, and you paste it in by hand. The AI never sees your site. The Novamira WordPress plugin changes that.

I used it to build my professional portfolio website with Claude Design and Claude Code. This is a short review of what it did for me, with the numbers, and where I’d be careful.

What the Novamira WordPress plugin does

Novamira is a WordPress plugin that connects your site to AI agents through the Model Context Protocol (MCP). Once it’s connected, an agent like Claude can work on the site directly:

  • Run PHP and WP-CLI commands on the server
  • Read, write and upload files
  • Inspect and build Elementor pages
  • Create and edit posts in the block editor
  • Use what other plugins expose, such as Rank Math’s SEO fields

The difference is simple. Claude stops guessing how WordPress works and looks at how my WordPress works.

How I used it on my portfolio

My site runs on WordPress, Astra and Elementor. Without Novamira, I would have copied code from Claude into WordPress, checked the result, described what went wrong and repeated. With Novamira, Claude could check the result itself.

Four moments where it paid off:

  1. A performance pass. Claude turned on page caching, loaded form and accordion scripts only on the pages that use them, and moved the fonts onto my own server. Time to first byte went from about 1.4s to 0.17s, and the home page’s assets dropped from 1,477 KB to 489 KB.
  2. Publishing blog posts. Claude built my last post in the block editor, uploaded the images with alt text and filled in the Rank Math fields. It scored 87 out of 100.
  3. Brand consistency. Claude copied the styles from a post that was already on the site, so new sections matched my brand kit without me listing hex codes again.
  4. Debugging. When the editor’s Save button stopped working, Claude logged the failing requests on the server and traced the problem to a missing login cookie in my browser. I wouldn’t have found that by describing symptoms.

An AI that reads your site fixes the problem you have. An AI that reads your description fixes the problem you described.

My takeaway after the build

Where I’d be careful

Novamira gives the AI full control of your WordPress install. That’s the point, and it’s also the risk. The plugin’s own description says it is meant for development and staging environments.

  • Take a backup before any large job
  • Read what the AI plans to change before it changes it
  • Disconnect the plugin when you’re not using it

Direct access means faster fixes and faster mistakes

AI still gets things wrong. I check every page Claude touches before I call it done.

The verdict

If you build or maintain WordPress sites with AI, Novamira is worth the setup. It cut most of the back-and-forth, because Claude could see the problem instead of reading my description of it.

My portfolio wouldn’t be as consistent without it. For the full story of that build, read how I built my professional portfolio website with Claude.

Questions about Novamira

What is Novamira?

Novamira is a WordPress plugin that connects your site to AI agents such as Claude through the Model Context Protocol (MCP), so they can inspect and change the site directly.

Does Novamira work with Elementor?

Yes. On my site Claude used it to read and build Elementor pages, and to create posts in the block editor.

Is Novamira safe to use on a live site?

It gives the AI full access, and its own description says it is for development and staging. If you use it on a live site as I did, treat it like an admin account: keep backups, review changes and disconnect it when you don’t need it.
